World Poker Crown Winner

wpc winnerThe recent World Poker Series ended in spectacular fashion in Las Vegas recently, with the youngest ever winner taking the World Poker Crown and landing an impressive $9.15 million for the first prize. Peter Eastgate from Denmark triumphed over the Russian player Ivan Demidov after a grueling 5 hour head-to-head match, busting apart the Russian’s game in the final hand.

Ivan Demidov received a modest $5.8 million for finishing in second place, and has certainly made his mark on the Poker circuit by becoming the only player ever to win a seat at the final table in both the US and European legs of the World Poker Series tour.

This year’s $9.15 million first prize is the second highest in World Poker Series history, only beaten by the $12 million first prize earned by champion Jamie Gold in the 2006 World Series of Poker finals.
